This is the perfect dessert for long winter Friday nights. Sitting down to a baked apple and a cup of fruits galore tea (my favorite), is what helps me get through the short Friday afternoon madness!
4 Cortland apples- peeled halfway and cored
2 tbs ground nuts
1 tbs vanilla sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
Mix the nuts, sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and dip the peeled apples into it.
Place a square or two of chocolate in the center.
Cover tightly and bake on 350° for 40 minutes.
Check with a fork to make sure that it’s soft. If it still needs more time, recheck at five minute intervals. If it gets too overdone, the apples will kind of explode. They will still taste incredible, but the presentation will not be as nice.
