My mother-in-law made this recipe the first Shabbos that I came to her, and I made sure to get this recipe from her, as soon as I got married. It is my favorite minute steak recipe because it’s easy to make and the kids love it, too! When I make this for Shabbos, I double the recipe and freeze half. Because the meat and couscous freeze well, it’s the perfect thing to pull out when you need it.
Ingredients:
6 minute steaks
1 sautéed onion
1 cube of frozen garlic
2 tsp sugar
3 tbs soy sauce
Mix the ingredients together and pour over the meat. Cover tightly and bake at 350º for an hour. Lower the oven to 275º and bake for another 2 hours. The meat will be so soft and will nearly fall apart.
Serve over couscous
*Plan ahead
Freeze the meat once it’s completely cooked.
Cook the couscous as per the instructions on the package. Add a sautéed onion with a little extra oil and then freeze. The extra oil is important when freezing the couscous so that it shouldn’t get sticky.
Happy cooking,
Esti
